A journalist, educator and foreign correspondent, C.S. Manegold worked for twenty years as a reporter with The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Newsweek Magazine bearing witness to wars, human injustice, environmental change and social issues on four continents and the Caribbean.

In 2001, she turned her attention full-time to long-form non-fiction, photography, pottery and teaching. Author of two books and winner of numerous journalism and teaching awards, she is presently at work on a memoir of her wholly unconventional life.
